WHY LEDs?

Warm White or Cool White?

When it comes to choosing the lights for your home, it comes down to personal preference. The choice that you make can change the atmosphere in any room. WarmLIGHT gives the room, as the name suggests, a warm and cosy atmosphere, whereas cool light can give the same room a totally different ambience.

Kelvin Temperature Chart

The way in which LED lights are categorized is by the use of the Kelvin Temperature SCALE. As you can see from the image at the right, the scale starts out around 1000K and rises to 10,000K.

An LED LIGHT rated as 3000K will be rated as a “Warm White” light, which produces a light colour similar to a sunrise or sunset. This type of light will produce a glow with a slight yellow tinge. An LED light that is rated as 6000K will be rated as a “Cool White” light. This type of light will produce a light which is more reminiscent of daylight, for example the light that enters a room on a bright sunny day

Our LED lights are rated from 2800K to 6500K and produce accurate colours in accordance with the Kelvin Temperature Scale.

What Do They Look Like?

The image on the right gives you an example on how different lights affect the feel of a room. The top photo shows the room using Cool White LAMPS, and the bottom image shows the same room using Warm White lamps. As you can see, the feel of the room can be changed with the use of different lamps.

The choice you make is a personal choice. Generally speaking, people will use Warm White LIGHT in living areas, and Cool White in kitchens, bathrooms and office spaces.

Throughout our site you will notice our lamps are described with the colour in the name (eg 3000K) or you will be given the option of colour when you place an order. Please contact us if you require an more onformation about our LED lights.
